Don't Compare Apples With Oranges
I got these UFOs six days ago and have to say that I'm really impressed. Listened to them for about ten hours so far. My opinion when I experience any headphones is purely subjective, as is everyone's. I own about ten pair of high-end headphones. My wife would kill me if she knew how much money I've spent on them. Most are considered reference models. As much as I'd like to think that these Bluedio UFO headphones are high-end, I can't do that. Some very articulate reviewers here advocate that the UFOs are better than the Bose QC35 and Sony 1000xm2 (I own both). They are comparing apples to oranges. They opt for the UFOs over The Beats Studio (I own those too) models. I can agree with the latter, but can't quite put Bose, Sony and that other one in the same sentence. The Bose and Sony's are probably the best noise cancelling headphones on the market. They also sound incredible without any color. I don't listen to much compressed music, all HIFI, very few MP3 tracks. One can easily tell the difference between HIFI and MP3 while donning the Bose and Sony, but not the Bluedio UFO. Don't get me wrong, the HIFI sounds better on everything. The UFOs sound better than anything from Beats (purely subjective opinion). The Bluedio has a stellar set of cans with the UFOs. They will knock your socks off with very little power. One reviewer stated that the Bluedio were cheaply built. NOT! They are very well built, comfortable, and look awesome. The UFOs connect with Bluetooth like magic and if you are bothered by a phone call while listening on your phone, they have worked very well for me both times I was bothered while listening on my phone, but I didn't buy them to talk on the phone. I bought them because I was curious about a set of cans with eight drivers. They deliver! One can feel these headphones way down inside. They are a tad bass heavy, but I wanted big balls. I also bought them based on Amazon reviews. At under a hundred dollars they are a fantastic purchase. Worth every penny. The sound is deep, full, and surprisingly clear with good midrange and a high-end that sizzles. The soundstage is decent. As of yet, I've not experienced the 3D effect. Can't compare them to earlier or pricier Bluedio headphones, but these are really engineering marvels. Did I say that they are comfortable? Bluedio processes the sound as it is fed to the drivers, giving us incredible sound at low volume. There is no need to crank these or use a headphone amp to experience powerful sound. My phone sounds fantastic on the UFOs playing iTunes. They sound like the equalizer is in use, with emphasis on heavy bass. I have played them way too loud without any discernable distortion. With the electronics involved to the extent they are, there is nothing flat about these, which takes them out of competition as reference models. Do I recommend these? They are fun to listen to and are loaded with cool features. I look forward to listening to high energy music with these for years. If you're a basshead, you'll find nirvana here.
